DESIGN FOR A BASE FOR LAMPS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,871, dated August 4, 1896.
Application filed July 2, 1896. Serial No. 597,910 Term of patent 3 years.
To all whom H may (renew-1L.-
lie it known that I, ALBERT PAIITZ, of Meriden, in the county of New Haven and State of onnecticut, have invented anew Design for a lia se for Lamps, (Case A;) and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification, and represents a perspective view of a lamp-base embodying my design.
This invention relates to a design for bases for lamps; and the design consists in the configuration and ornamentation as shown in the accompanying illustration.
The base is substantially rectangular in general outline, consisting of four legs curvin g gradually downward, then sharply inward and outward, forming upturned feet A. The legs are ornamented by raised conventionalized acanthus-leaves l and scrolls C, inelosing plain panels I) and It. The space between the legs is filled by an open oval me- 25 an oval panel I, the whole setting in a grooved 3o border J, merging at its center lower portion into a shell ornament K, all as shown in the accompanying illustration.
