UlIARLES \V. SMITII OF OAK PARK, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A CURTAIN-POLE BRACKET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,271, dated March 24,1896.
Application filed February 10 1896. Serial No. 578,798. Term of patent 7 years.
To (all whom it may concern:
150 it known that I, CHARLES W. SMITH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oak Park, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Curtain-Pole Brackets, of which the following, in connection with the accompanying drawings, is a full, clear, and exact specification.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 is a face View of a curtain-pole bracket embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof.
The leading feature of my design consists of the radially-arranged portions A. The portions A radiate from the portion 13 like the spokes of a wheel, and their outer ends are enlarged and have substantially pear-shaped portions whose attenuated or pointed ends are turned outward. The portions of the radial portions A between the pear-shaped ends and the portion B are formed with a series of beads or knob-like portions (1 of dilierent diameters, as shown in Fig. 1, and of less diameter than the portions The portion 1; is spheroidal, and from its upper and outer end projects a pinnacle I), whose point is formed on ineurves, while its base or larger portion is formed on outcurvcs eon verging inwardly toward the portion l3, as shown in Fig. 2. At the inner side of this spheroidal portion D is formed a second spheroidal portion E, in which is formed the socket or cavity F for the curtain-pole, such cavity being either angular, as shown in full lines, or round, as shown in dotted lines. The spheroidal portion D is provided with a base or pedestal having the narrow neck (l gradually rounded off into the lines of the portion E and a widened base II.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for eurtain-pole brackets, suit stantially as herein shown and described.
