Inventor Witness 1 35/ his fittorney Ah am I cum-An ruc'c um) vugmnsmn u! UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LYMAN Nltlltllb, ()F TRENTON, XFAV JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A SINK-LEG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,882, dated November 12. 1895.
Application filed June 21, 1895. Serial No. 553,611. Term of patent 14 years.
lie it known that I, LYMAN Nicnois, of Trenton, New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for or Configuration ot' the Supports or Legs for Sinks and other Uses, of which the following is a description, referring to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.
The design is especially applicable to the supports for the ends or sides of sinks or similar fixtures.
The design combines a simple Grecian col- ..mn surmounted by a gracefully-outlined 'support conforming to the sink or object to be supported and adapted to receive a fastening device by which the sink may be secured firmly in place.
My design will be clearly understood by ref erence to the accompanying drawings, where- Figure 1 is an end elevation giving a fullface View of my leg or support. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the upper portions, and Fig. 3 is a plan View beneath the sectional plane 3 3 of Fig. I.
These three views are deemed necessary to fully illustrate my design or configuration, and throughout the figures like letters of referenee indicate like parts, features, or ornamentation.
In another application pending with this I have set forth and claimed the mechanical features of the invention to which this design is applied.
In dotted lines in the drawings the sink or other object to be supported is indicated, so that it may be clearly seen to what manner of support or leg the design is applicable. illechanically the support or leg is divided into two parts-the \crlieal portion or log proper, and the support or rest which con forms and tits the angle and incline ot the sink. In describing my design it will be convenieut to make the same division. The upper part or rest 5 is formed in the angular shape shown in Fig. 2, and its outline, as seen in full-face View, is the symmetrical design clearly shown in Fig. l. The bottom sol this rest is square and is placed upon the cap of a column C of pure and simple Grecian order, preferably circular, as shown in cross-section in Fig. 23. The column has a square base or plate 13, by which in practice it is secured to the floor.
\Vhile in its more complete aspect my de sign comprises all the features I havenamed, there are some individual features or effects to which I attribute importance quite independent of the others. Among these are more particularly the outline of the portion S, as seen in Fig. 1, and the angle or incline of this portion in respect to the column C, as seen in Fig. 2; but in its complete aspect my invention is the combination of design and effect of the portion S and the column t, upon which it is superposed.
Having in the foregoing fully set forth my design, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent the following:
The design for a support or rest for sinks, substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I ha re hereunto set my hand, at Trenton, New Jersey, this 28th day of February, 1805.
