DESIGN FOR A BEDSTEAD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,711, dated September 24, 1 895.
Application filed August 28 1895- Serlal No. 560,319- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it 1nay concern.-
Be it known that I, OSCAR E. A. Wmssnnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at South Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bedsteads; and I do hereby declare the following to be a. full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
The accompanying drawing is a perspective view of a bedstead exhibiting my design.
The leading feature of my design is the head or foot portion of a bedstead provided with two ornamental main side posts having ball-finials, horizontal bars connecting the said side piece, and vertical rods connecting two of the horizontal bars and provided with upper and lower ornanientations.
A, in the drawing, represents a head or foot portion of a bedstead, which consists of main side posts B B, which are ornamented by ring finials b, and a number of fancy enlargements or projections 1) intermediate the upper and lower endsof said posts, some of which enlargements have rosette or other suitable configurations thereon, as shown in the drawing. These posts are connected by an upper horizontal rod C, about midway the length of which is an upwardly and downwardly extending ornament 0.
D D represent two horizontal bars which connect the side posts B B at points intermediate their upper ends and the point where the mattress-supporting frame is applied. Vertical rods E E connect the horizontallyarrauged bars D D, and these rods are provided at their upper ends along the upper bar I) with suitable ornamentations e, which are elongated rosettes, as shown, while the lower ends of said rods terminate in fancy contigurations, as shown, along the bar D. Horizontal spaces F F are left between the upper bars 0 D and the lower bar D and the mat tress-supporting frame, as shown.
Having now described my design, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a bedstead, substantially as shown and described.
