UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES J. AHRENFELDT, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A BONBON-B OX.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,985, dated February 5, 1895.
- Application filed November 1?,1894. Serial No. 529,191. Term of patent 7 years.
T0 at whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES J. AHREN- FELDT, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, county and State of New York, have invented an original Design for a Bonbon-Box, of which the following is a specification.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1, represents a perspective view of a bonbon box, embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a top plan View of the cover.
The essential features of my design are lodged in a series of arabesque and escaloped ornamentations arranged upon the bonbon box and cover, as shown in the drawings. .A series of greater and lesser segmental lines divide the surface of the box, and cover into three divisions. These divisions or segments cause the general contourof the box and cover to present a trefoilate appearance. The three greater segments are further segmented by a series of lesser segmentations. These lesser segmentations on the body of the box are ornamented on'their top and bottom by an escaloped ornamentation; the bottom ornamentation or double one overlapping the other. The upper edge of this escaloped ornamentation is sharply defined. From this sharply defined edge the lines of the escalops run under the swelled portion of the box and are finally merged in the foot ring upon which the box sits. The upper escalops of the body of the box are sharply defined on their upper edge and on their under side merge gradually into the plain exterior surface of the box. The three segments into which the cover of the box is divided are each ornamented by a group of composite arabesque and escaloped ornamentations forming a series of curves and escalops extending from near the edge of the cover toward the center which is plain and devoid of ornamentation.
In the drawings, A A is the lower escalop ornamentation.
A is the upper escalop ornamentation.
B is the arabesque ornamentation.
D is the greater segmentation.
D is the lesser segmentation.
F is the plain exterior surface.
I claim The design for a bonbon box, as herein shown and described.
CHARLES J. AHRENFELDT.
