DESIGN FOR A HAMMOCK.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,307, dated May 22, 1894.

Application filed April 13,1894. Serial No. 507,486. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ISAAC E. PALMER, of Middletown, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a. new and original Design for Hammocks, of which the following is a. specification', reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

The leading feature of my design consists in the shape of the hammock provided with the outer shorter or shallower valance draped from the edge ot the body of the hammock and the inner longer or deeper valance presenting, when the hammock is strung, a draped flounced valance, as shown.

Figure 1 represents the appearance of the parts of the hammock when they are spread out in a plane and Fig. 2 represents the appearance which the parts present when the hammock is strung for use.

A represents the body of the hammock, a the outer shallower valance, a the points where it is caught up to the edge of the body of the hammock and B the deeper inner valance.

What I claim is The design fora hammock,substantially as herein shown and described.
