DESIGN FOR A HEAD-FORMER FOR CIGARS.
PE IFICATION ng part of Design No. 22,595, dated July 4, 1893.
Application filed May 15, 1893. Serial No. 474,351- Term of patent 14 years.
To (ZZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES IIVASS, aoiti' zen of the United States, residing at NewYork, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for IIe-ad-Formers for Cigars, of which the following is a specification.
The essential feature of my design consists in the shape, or configuration, of the surfaces lying adjacent to the head rest and coincidinn; therewith and in the shape of other parts extending from the head rest.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a plan view; Fig. 2 a front elevation; Fig. 3 a rear elevation; Fig. 4 a bottom plan view; Fig. 5 an end elevation looking in the direction of the arrow a, Fig. 1, and Fig. 6 an end elevation looking in the direction of the arrow 1), Fig. 1.
The head former comprises a block of irregular outline in plan, and substantially rectangular in front, rear and end elevations. The block 1 has an extension 2, the ends of which are rounded, and a substantially rectangular extension 3. Traversing the block 1 and lying between it and the extension 3 is a conoidal aperture or head rest 4, above which lies an inverted V shaped slot 5. The surface 6 of the block is substantially flat, and is partially broken by the slot 5, which forms an irregular ledge 7. Opposite the ledge 7 is a ledge S irregular in outline, and which defines the opposing side of the slot 5. The ledge is one side of a hump 9, which rises upwardly from the aperture 4, and above the surface 6 of the block 1, and which slopes downwardly to the rear of the extension 3, as seen in Fig. 6. The top of the hump 9 is rounded and it descends laterally to a depression 10 in the extension 3, forming a wall 11 on one end and another wall 12 on the rear. Within the depression 10 are circular apertures 13, and immediately below the aperture 4. is a downwardly extending cylindrical lug 14.
Having described my design, I claim- The design fora head former for cigars, substantially as herein shown and described.
Signed at the city, county, and State of New York this 11th day of May, 1893.
