UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THEODOR KUNDTZ, OF CLEVELAND, OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A SEWING-MACHINE COVER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No.1'7,415. dated June 28,1887,
Applicationjiled May 3, 1887. Serial No. 237,015. Term of patent 1 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THEODOR KUNDTZ, a citizen of the United States, and residing in Cleveland, Ouyahoga county, State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Sewing-Machine'Oovers, of which the following is a specification, reference beinghad to the'accompanyingdrawing, forming a part thereof.
The figure is a view in perspective of my newly-designed sewing-machine cover.
The distinctive features of my design consist- First, of a raised panel, A, on the front side of the cover, the same being divided by ornamental'lines into. spaces, the two end spaces having carved work therein, as shown at a. The central portion of the panel is usually left blank for receiving the name of the sewing-machine. A border of grooved work is usually had on the panel, substantially as shown; but I make no claim tosuch border.
Second, rounded upper edges, B, along the front and rear sides of the cover, with outward swell (land reverse curve D, both extending around the four sides of the cover. A small bead-molding, d, is at the center of the reverse curve; but this is not material.
What I claim is- 1. In a design for sewing-machine covers, the ornamentation of the same, consisting, cssentially, of a raised panel, the latter having the'end portion ornamented with carved work representing a spray of leaflets with a banded quartering, as shown and described.
2. In adesign for s wing-machine covers, the ornamentation 0 same, consisting of a raised panel, the end portions of which are ornamented with carved work, the said cover having rounded upper edges on its front and rear sides and outward swells C and reverse curves D, both extending around the four sides of' the cover, as described and shown.
In testimony whereof I sign this specification, in the presence of two witnesses, this 21st day of April, 1887.
THEODOR KUNDTZ.
