JOHN ZEBLEY, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A FRINGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,308, dated September 29, 1885.
Application filed May 9, 1885. Term of patent 3} years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1. JOHN ZnBLEY, of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia, and in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a certain new and ornamental Design for Fringe; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 shows a view in front elevation of a piece of loopiringe with a heading made in accordance with my design, and Fig. 2 asectional View of a piece of straight fringe with a heading in accordance with my design.
My invention is intended more especially for cardfringe, but is applicable for any fringe having aheading substantially like that of card-fringe.
Heretofore card-fringe has been made with a plain heading having loops or straight strands depending therefrom.
The leading feature of my design consists in aband of chenille laid on and along the heading and running with the pattern of such heading.
from. Along the heading, and running with the pattern thereof, is the raised band C, of any material, having thread-like filaments, as does chenille. As shown, this band has the appearance of being divided up into lengths by breaks or depressions. Such breaks. depressions, or divisions occur at regular intervals.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is 1. The design for fringe, consisting of the raised band of thread-like filaments on the front of the heading and running with the pattern thereof, as herein shown and described.
2. The design for fringe, consisting of the heading and the raised band thereon running with its pattern and divided up into lengths by breaks or depressions, as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 13th day of April, A. D. 1885.
