SPECIFIGATION forming part of Design No. 14,311, dated September 18, 1883,

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, 111mm W. Runes, of Yonkers, \Vestchoster county, State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets. of which the following is a specification.

The accompanying photograph illustrates my new design for carpet.

This invention relates to a. new design for carpets, oil-cloths, and analogous fabrics; and it consists of the new ornamentation of parts hereinafter more fully pointed out.

On the background of the carpet are the reprosentations of coral-like figures a, b, 0, r], and e. Some of these carry floral ornaments.

' Thus near the coral-like figures is the floral group f, and near the coral-like figure c is the floral group 1 while the group h is near the figure d, joining it, practically, to a leaf-like figure, i. j is a floral group placed above the figure d, as shown, and joining it to a leaf-like figure, Z, which is the dunlicate of figure c.

I claim- The design for carpets, consisting of thefigures a b c d, cfg h ij l, substantially as shown.
