Be it known that I, Trace Christensen, Jr., a citizen of the United States, residing at Evanston, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Mechanical Pencil, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part thereof.

In the drawing:

Fig. 1 is an enlarged side elevation of a mechanical pencil showing my new design and looking directly toward the clip side of the pencil.

Fig. 2 is a view similar to Fig. 1 but showing the pencil rotated on its longitudinal axis through an angle of 90.

3 is a still further enlarged fragmentary development of a portion of one side of the ferrule for receiving the eraser holder.

Fig. 4 is an enlarged fragmentary plan view of a portion of the top edge of the eraser holder ferrule.

Fig. 5 is an enlarged plan View looking toward the top end of the pencil.

The metal ferrule immediately above the circumferential head at the top of the clip is formed around its circumference with two vertically spaced series of thin longitudinally extending grooves.

I claim:

The ornamental design for a mechanical pencil, substantially as shown and described.
