To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES EDWARD HAVILAND, a citizen of the United States, residin in Limoges,l3ranee, have invented acertain msign for Hollow, Flat, and Covered Viare, and the like, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description and specification, referen so being bad to the photographic illustration accompanying it and forming part thereof, in which- A represents braided or busket work formed in the surface of the material, and B the smooth portion, shaped as shown, to represenl; a napkin or plain article lnid over the basket-work, on the flat and dishing ware, and on the pitchers, tea-pots, and such like artieles, the plain surface is represented as a vessel held in a holder of braided or basket work. In both cases the plain surface is supported by the basket-work base. Many shapes of were are shown, such as would constitute a full dinner and ten. set, the same general characteristics running through all. The plain surface is sometimes figured with colors or otherwise ornamented.
What, I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
Theeombination, substantially as shown and described, in flat, hollow, and covered were, of a supporting base impressed with braided or basket work, with the plain surface, as shown and described, arranged to be held above or in the braided surf-nee, as represented.
