PATENT OFFICE DESIGN FOR A CHAIR Wolfgang Hoffmann, Batavia, Ill., assignor to The Howell Company, St. Charles, 111., a corporation of Illinois To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Wolfgang Hoffmann, a citizen of the Republic of Austria, residing at Batavia, in the county of Kane and State of Illinois, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Chair, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the chair, showing my new design;

Fig. 2 is a top plan view thereof;

Fig. 3 is a side elevation thereof; and

Fig. 4 is a front elevation thereof.

The characteristic features of the design reside in a tubular supporting frame comprising a pair of spaced front legs each of which at its upper end executes a bend and then proceeds horizontally along one side of a seat to a point adjacent the rear end thereof, and a back rest comprising two spaced tubular bars each extending past the rearward end of the seat, then downwardly therebelow and through a return bend to meet one of the horizontal portions of the supporting frame at a point substantially midway between the front and rear ends of the seat, as shown.
