FRANK DUNWORTH, JAMES H. YOUNG, AND JAMES A. DUNWORTH, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR FRAMES FOR SUGAR-BOWLS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,145, dated August 7, 1877 application filed March 30, 1877. [Term of Patent 31} years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, FRANK DUNWORTH, JAMES HYDE YOUNG, and J AMES A. DUN- WORTH, of the city, county, and Stateof New York, have originated and designed a Frame or Stand for Sugar-Bowls, and other like articles of table-ware, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being bad to the accompanying photographic illustration, making a part of this specification.
In the illustration shown, A represents orliamental cylindrical rings extending around the bowl, and forming the top and bottom of the frame work. Said rings are connected and supported by the ornamental standards B, which form the sides of the frame. 0 is the handle to the frame, and D the cover to the bowl or lining E. The bowl, however, is not claimed as a part of our invention, nor is the invention limited to the precise construction shown, as it is obvious that the handle 0 may be dispensed with without departing from our invention.
, In the design the rings A consist of a plain narrow head, to the lower edge of which is attached a series of loops representing a looped string of pearls, each loop supporting a trefoil in the center.
The supports or standards B are designed to represent clusters of lilies of the valley,
each standard being formed of a single cluster, terminating in ornamental legs or feet that support the frame-work and bowl, said standards being attached near their ends to the rings A, and thereby forming the body of the frame. The handle 0 consists of two plain rods, curved as shown, and attached near each end to the upper ring A, said rods being united at the center of and throughout the entire curve, and diverging throughout their straight portion, as shown in the illustration. To each side of the handle is attached an oval ornament, representing a shell embedded in a cluster of leaves and flowers.
Having thus described our invention, we claim- Adesign for aframe-work or stand for sugarbowls, and like articles of table-ware,consisting of the rings A, representingalooped string of pearls, the loops supporting a trefoil, said rings being connected by the standards B, representing clusters of lilies of the valley,'the frame being made with or without the handle 0, ornamented as described and shown.
