Be-it known that I, ARI RI'iLF, a citizen ofv Belgium, residing at Brussels, Belgium,
have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tools for Bending Pipes or Figured Bars, of which the following is a specification.
This'invention. has for its object a toolfor bending pipes or figured bars of any kind.
Withthe new tool the pipe is bent around' the circumference of the form-piece by a knee-lever consisting merely of two members joined together. The longer member is turnably journaled' in the form-piece, 'while the' short knee-piece jointed to the end of this member presses upon the pipe to be bent firmly and unmovably. When moving this lever, for instance by means of a handle fastened to the rear-prolongation of the short knee-piece, thepipe isby an always increasing knee-lever action pressed down with'great force upon the form-piece, and this force becomes the greater'the more the two united levers approach their respectivedead points, so that shortly before'and after passing the dead point the greatest bending .force is exerted.

For holding fast the pipe on the formpiece serves the clamping-device formed by the hinge-joints, the bow t and clamping screw 24. The hinge-joint s is fastened to the lower part of the form-piece. In the same is journaled, by means of the bolt o, the bow t-, which ascends on the form-piece and is provided with corresponding grooves, in order to encompass the pipes. A tool for bending pipes comprising a form piece around the circumference of which the pipe is adapted to be bent, a lever d pivoted to the form piece, and a second lever having a movable connection with the first lever intermediate its end, one end of said second lever being adapted to immovably engage with the pipe to be bent.
