Another object is durability and-another is the provision of a device of this class that will occupy the minimum amount of space when in use.

With the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described in the following specification, pointed out in the claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawing which forms a part of said specification, and in which Figure 1 is a side, elevation of the device with the body or tree portion shown in two positions. Fig. 2 is an end view. Fig. 3 is a cross section taken on line 33 of Fig. 1. Fig. 4: is a section on line 44 of Fig. 1.

Like reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

2 is the base which may be of any shape desired and which is designed to be fastened upon the wall or any vertical surface in any suitable manner and to which is secured a slotted standard 3- by a swivel 4 so that it may be rotated on said base.

5 is the tree or body portion of the device which has a tail piece 6 mortised in one extremity, the opposite end of said tail piece being secured in theslotted standard 3 by a set screw 7.

A plurality of annular recesses 8 are provided on the body portion about which acircular collar 9 may be removably secured by means of a set screw 10 operating through an aperture in the said collar and which enters the aforesaid annular recess. A screw-eye 11 is secured to the collar 9 and from said screw-eye a garment hanger 12 may be suspended and garments hung thereon. This wardrobe tree will be found very'serviceable when placed above a radiator as the body portion can then project out over the radiator and the garment hangers will depend from this portion and wet garments may be suspended above the radiator to dry.

When desired the body portion may be disposed in a vertical position, in which position it is shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1, by rotating the standard 3 through an arc of 45" degrees and then raising the tree to a vertical position when the device will take up the minimum amount of space and accommodate a number of garments.

What I claim is 1. A wardrobe tree comprising a base, a slotted standard rotatably secured to said base, a body portion provided with annular recesses secured to said standard, a collar removably secured to said body portion directly opposite said annular recesses and a screw-eye secured in'said collar.

2. A wardrobe tree comprising a base, a slotted standard rotatably secured to said base, a body. portion provided with a plurality of annular recesses and having a tail piece mortised in one extremity; said tail piece being movably secured within the aforesaid slotted standard, a collar removably secured to the body portion directly opposite the annular recesses and a screweye secured to said collar.
