Description

@wat @Mira TIMOTHY EARLE, OF VALLEY FALLS, RHODE` ISLAND.
Letters Patent No. 99,17 3, dated January 25, 1870.
IMPROVED EGG-BAIER.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent .and making part of the same.
To all whom itmay concern Be itknown-that I, TIMOTHY EARLE, oi' Valley Falls, in thecounty of Providence, and State of lthode Island, have invented a certain new and useful Egg- Beater.
My invention consists in the novel arrangement and construction of the operative-mechanism; and I do hereby declare that the following specificatiomtaken in connection with the drawings furnished, and forming a part of the same, is a true, clear,.and exact descliption thereof.
Reference being had to the drawings,
A represents the handle. y v
B is a bevel gear-wheel, attached to the handle A, and provided with a crank-handle, marked C.
D is a spindle, permanently xed in the handle A, and is incapable of movement.
E is a at band, extending from one side ofthe lower end of the handle A, downward, to the end of the spindle D, thence upward to the other side of the handle. At the points of contact with the handle and spindle, the band is securely fastened thereto, an'd is therefore stationary.
F is a dat band, in the form of acircle, arranged within and parallel with the band E. It is securely fastened, at points of contact, to the spindle D, and, likeband E, is stationary.
G is the beaten loosely mounted upon the spindle D. It is secured to a head-block, marked H, which is provided with a bevel-gear, fitting and in proper relation with the wheel B.
The operation of my egg-beater is, obviously, as follows:
The turning of the wheel B communicates motion to the beater G, which revolves between the stationary bands E and F, producing a peculiar movement of the eggs, and, by means of the cutting and mixing eect, the desired result is attained in a quicker time, with less labor, than by the use of any heretofore eX- isting device for accomplishing the same purpose.
The parts of my beater are simple and inexpensive, and, when properly united, of greatdurability.
Having thus described my invention,
I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States- The improved eggfbeater, herein described, consisting of the handle A, bevel-gear B, head-block, with pinion H, spindle D, outer band E, and inner band F, and the rotary beater G, the whole. constructed and operating as described.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed, on this 30th day of November, 1869.
TIMOTHY EARLE.
