BRACKET.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it knownthat I, JoHN J. TOKHEIM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cedar Rapids, in the county ot' Linn and State of Iowa, have invented a new and useful Bracket, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has relation to'adjustable brackets especially adapted to be used in combination with liquid dispensing fixtures and it consists in the novel construction and arrangement of its parts as `hereinafter shown, described and claimed.
The object of the invention is to provide a simple bracket structure which is easily and quickly adjusted vertically and positively secured in an adjusted position. As hereinbefore stated the said bracket is especially designed to be used in combination with a liquid dispensingr fixture and frequently it is desired to pass liquid from the said fixture into receptacles of different heights, and therefore it is desirable and many `times essential that the vessel into which the liquid is run or poured should be so supported that its inlet is in contact or nearly so with the liquid dispensing fixture, and as these vessels vary in height it is desirable to have :1n-adjustable bracket adapted to hold a vessel in proper position irrespective of its height. It is with a view of meet ing such conditions that prompt the present invention.
With the above object in view the bracket structure includes a panel preferably formed from sheet metal and having parallel guide rods supported thereon. Said panel is provided with a series of notches or indentations which are disposed in a row parallel with the said guide rods. A ledge member is provided with x sleeve portions having tapered openings which receive the guide rods and the said ledge member' is also provided with a nib or lug adapted to be inserted in any one of the said notches. A detachable drip pan is mounted upon the ledge and a handle is attached to the ledge through the nib or lug and is disposed at an acute angle to the plane of the surface of the panel.

The rods t pass through the bores of the sleeve 6 and the smaller ends of the said bores fit snugly about the peripheries of the said rods. The ledge member 5 is `further provided with a lug or nib 7 which is adapted to be projected into any one of the series ofnotches or indentations 3. The ledge 5 isiprovided with a central opening 8 in which is located a detachable drip pan 9. A handle 10 is attached at one end to the nib or lug 7 and extends under the ledge 5 and projects beyond the edge of the same. This handle 10 is not disposed at a right angle ,to the plane of the surface of the panel 1 but is pitched at an acute angle Yin order to prevent obstructing the opening 8 in order that the said opening may readily receive a pan 'andA the further object in disposing the handle indicated is that it is in a position more readily'to be grasped and operated by one who is about to place a vessel upon the ledge 5 or remove a vessel from the same.
The liquid dispensing fixture with which the bracket structure is designed to be used is not shown but it may be readily understood that in case it is desired to shift or move the ledge 5 along the rods 4 in order that thc said ledge may hold a relatively Itall or short vessel the handle 10 is grasped by theoperator and the ledge 5 is swungr on the reduced ends of the bores of the collars 6 aspivots upon the rods 4 so that the end of the nib or lug` 7 is disengaged from the notch il. The said ledge 5 is then free to be slid vertically alongr the rods 4 and when at' grasp upon the handle ll() whereby the Said ledge 5 Swings do/Wn and the end of the nib or lug 7 engaged one of the notches 3 and the ledge/is secured at the adjusted position.
Having described the invention what I elaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: K
1. A bracket structure comprising a panel having. a Ser/ies of Stops, guides mounted upon the panel at the opposite Sldes of the series of stops, a ledge member having Sleeves provided with tapered bores which receive the guides and also'provided with a nib adapted toengage the stops, a pan de tachably mounted upon the ledge member and a handle -conne'cted to the lnib and dis-v posed at anc acute-angle through the plane of the panel.
2. A braoket structure comprising al panel formed from meta-l `having upturned edge portions and provided upon its intermediate portion with a. serie` of stops, guides mouuted upon the panel at the opposite sidesk of" my own, I have hereto atlixed my signature *in the presence oi" two witnesses.
