The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all persons to whom these presents may come Be it known that I, THEOPHILE PILOTE, of Marlborough, in the county of Middlesex, and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Shoemakers Pincers; and do hereby declare the same to he fully described in the following speciication, and represented in the accompanying drawings, of which- Figure 1 is a side elevation,

In carrying outV my invention, I combine, with the jaws, hammer-head, and handles,a claw, g, to extend from thatl handle, d, to which the head c is` afixed, the arrangement ofthe claw being as represented.
I combine, with either or each handle, anawl, h, to extend from it near iVts end.
The awl may be inserted ina socketed projection,

hold the awl in place, such awl being provided with a' ange or collar,l l. i The claw, as well as the avvl, is foundto be of great; advantage in lasting the uppers of shoes, as must be apparent to any4 Shoemaker.
My arrangement of the claw contemplates its projection from the very j'aW-lever'e, to which the head c is'vafxed, and also from that side of such lever which Vis opposite to the one to which the head is fixed, this being advantageous in the construct-ion, as well as in the operation ofthe implement.
I make no claim to the combination of an awl with pincers, nor do I claim an auxiliary hammer-head to .one jaw, and its operation with'a hammerhead fixed to the other jaw.
