Be it known that I, ANDREW G. BRANDT, a. citizen of the United States, residing'at Scranton, in the county of Lackawanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful'FleXible Folding Cup, of which the following is a specification.
It is the object of this invention vide a collapsibledrinkin cup provided with a movable bottom an with a keeper, the keeper and the bottom cooperating to maintain the colla sible body distended.
Another object of tile invention is to provide a cup of the character hereinbe'fore mentioned, with a slidable keeper, operating in a novel and improved manner to sustain and to prou With the oregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed can be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the drawings,Figure 1 shows the invention in perspective, the cup being distended; Fig. 2 is a transverse section on the line A-B of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a side elevation showing the cup folded; and Fig. 4 is a fragmental bottom plan.
The body 1 of the cup is cylindrical in form, and is fashioned from resilient, yieldable material, such, for instance, as celluloid; although some other resilient, yieldable material might be employed to advantage. The bod 1 is open at both ends, a strap 2, provide at its lower end with an eye 3, being secured to the inside of the body 1, ad jacentthe lower end thereof. Thisstrap 2 serves to uphold pivotally, the bottom 4, this bottom 4 comprising, as shown in Fig. 2, a base'5, and an upstanding flange 6 the flange 6 being provided with a loop 7, adapted to be received in the eye 3 of the strap 2, whereby the bottom 4 will be pivotally held within the contour of the body 1. A keeper, preferably takin the form of a ring 15, is slidably mounte between the guide 11 and the body 1. This .ring 15 incloses the body 1 adjacent the upper end of the body, as shown in Fig. 2, the ring 15 obviously cooperating with the bottom 4 in maintaining the contour of the cup.

The ring 15 may then be swung pivotally in the direction of the arrow D, over the lower end of the body 1, and finally disposed in the upstanding position shown in Fig. 3.
