When it is desired to provide more tension upon the reciprocating blade, the operator by mani ulatlng the ,thumb-nut 14 will cause `t e hous' 15' topress downwardly and contact with t e 'upper surface ofv the reciprocating bladeL This feature has Aa tendency to create more closel more friction against the contacting surface ofthe blades and bring the cutting edges togither. -Having lly described my invention,
what I claim as new and desire to have secured to me by the grant of Letters latent, is:
A motor-driven hair clip cr comprising a stationary guide cutter 'ladeg a :frame mounted on the cutter blade and. diverging therefrom on an angle; a post sup sorted in the frame und stationary cutter ilade; a casing secured to the frame; a trunnion mounted inthe casing and frame; Aa worm gear mounted on the trunnion; a cam formed' on the trunnion and located beneath the worm gear; a worm supported in the casing and meshing with the Worm gear; a bifurcated arm plvotall'y mounted on the post, :its one end contacting with the cam and o erated thereby; a reciprocating cutter b ade mounted on the stationary cutter blade and provided with a recess. in which one end ofv the bifurcated arm contacts for operating the reciprocating blade by the movement of theV cam; a housing Supported on the -post and contacting with the reciprocating blade;
