The hoist, as already stated, operates in connection with the station platform C, and in its normal or lowered position is iush with said platform, as shown in Figs. 2 and 4, that portion ofthe platform which .directly overhangs the pit being cut away to provide an opening which conforms in shape and dimensions to thoseiof the platform member l5. Owing to the fact that the lift platform in both instances'includes a rotatable section or member, it will beapparent that in case a considerable quantity of freight or baggage vis to be` transferred to the car and .to be delivered at various stations along the `group for the station nearest that station,
and so on, until the group for-the nearest station is reached, this group being transferred last to the car and placed nearest the door. The Whole process of unloading the articles from the car will then be expedited,
since there vwill be no occasion to hunt for the particular articles to be delivered at a station when lthat Vstation'is reached.
