To all whom it may concern:

'Be it known that I, VooDronD SHANNON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Louisville, in,v the county of Jeffeion and State of Kentucky, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display- Racks, of which the following is a specication.

The present invention relates to display racks" of that type intended for displaying mattresses, and has for its purpose to provide such a device of knock-down construction, and. which when assembled maybe readily transported from place to place.

The essential purpose of the invention is in providing the display rack with carriages with means for permitting their withdrawal for almost their full length for placing in position the springs or mattresses to be displayed, or for removing them, said carriages being adapted to slide inJ and out to exhibit the goods.

The Ifurther advantage of the construction .is such that the supports or tracks for the .carriages may be adjusted relatively to each other so that the highest box mattresses or the smallest springs may be readily accommodated within the minimum of space.

With thse as the special advantages the invention embodies other points of novelty which will be pointed out in thecourse of the following extended description and set forth in the appended claims.

The horizontal portions of the guide or supporting' rails 8 constitute the tracks proper and at their forward ends they have jonrnaled therein each a roller 10 on which the sliding' carriage is adapted to travel.

The mattress supportingcarriages are likewise ot angle iron construction and comprise a framework et side bars 11, end bars 12, cross bars 1? and three or more tensioning-j rods 14e. The tensioningl rods 1l are rigidly secured to the forward angle bar 12 but have spiral springs 15 connecting with the rear angle bar.

In the present instance, the front and rear angle bars 2O ot the carriagesare cut-away as shown at 21 to aline with the grooved surface of the angle bars 11.

Having thus described my invention,A what I claim as new therein and desire to secure by Letters Patent7 is 1. A` display cabinet comprising a frame, slots formed in the frame at its front and rear ends, said slots being respectively disposed in relatively vertical and horizontal positions, tracks provided with members adapted to tit within said slots whereby to dctachably mount the same on the frame, a carriage mounted to slide on said tracks7 said horizontal slots adapted to prevent tilting ot the rear ends of said tracks when the carriage withdrawn; and means for limiting the sliding' movement ot' said carriage.

A portable display cabinet comprising a frame of angle bars of knock-down construction, rollers on which said frame is mounted, slots formed within the corner posts of said frame, the slots of the rear corner posts being disposed at right angles to it'within the slots whereby the tracks are adjustably and detachably supported in-the frame, carriages supported on and adapted to slide on said tracks; said supportin means comprising roller bearings journale in the forward ends of the tracks and supportin the carriage, and roller bearings Journa ed in the rear end of the carriage and supported on said tracks; means carried by the carriages to prevent tilting of the same when the carriages are Withdrawn, and means` forV limiting the'slidingy movement of said carriages.
