Specification of Letters Patent.
'Ailp1iCa t -Xl filed July 22, 1809. Serial No. 509,007.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, Louis E, -FR1G1E, a citizen of the United States, residing at Evansville, in the county of Vonde hurg and State of Indiana, have invented a new and useful Shelving, of Which the following a specification.
This invention relates to portable sec tional and adjustable sh ing and is de- 3.0 signed to eoi'istruct av shelving of this type l and characte aireiy of thereby redueing 1 and presenting structure which will not invite the presence of hugs and moths.
'With the above and other objects in View, this invention consists in the construction, combinn and crrongemei'it of pa; all as her after fully dc 'hed, specili cally claimed and illustrated in the accompanying.

,l lhc partition 7 L mare hoi'izcoixir'u plane A; 1 slots 4' l in the chmmcl I are similarly formed shoe/n in the tl'lliet line in Fig. 1 one sml: construction that the "21g bracket l is held ap'proxinmtely m position WllGlLODG extremity thereof is inner )late 20' but should it he so desired other 1s retained in L .is in cits operative and normal position en-J 'gagesthe lower side of the slots, thus form mg :1 spacing member for the upright 10 in relation "5,- the hack plate 1, and s, hm'cefor theenth-e frame. The partition interposed between these brackets hasthe lugs 1% projecting from its rear side adapted enter the slots 8, the front portion of the phrtition being held firmly between the lips oft-he upright 10; thus, when the brackets 6 are in position the partition is rigidly held therchetween and not only forms 2: means wherchy the goods may be separated, but contributes to the functions for which the brackets are designed.
The inorlifiotion shown gin 4 comprises pair of angularly be'iih plates 20 am 21, the outer plate 2-1 being approximatelyfl shaped, while the inner is similarly formed and has its forward arm bent outwardly to form the lip which forms a hrecing means for the shelf, and a protection for the lirccltet G. Piercing the forward arm of the outer member 21 are the slots l similar to "those located in the vertically cylending channel 2 in which the rearward extremity hrccketfl is receiyed. The back plate -ally at its outer extremity to in the flange 3 whiclfiis riveted to the the outer plate .21 may form continuation of the JitClC plate. I,
The shelv 3; are suyiported by the bracket (3 and are constructed of corrugated steel to add stitlness to the smile, al qlhave their lcmvurd longil'ndiimlly extending, sides curred at 26 to form a finished zippeavrance. To secure the shelf firmly on the loracket 6, th downwardly pri'ij-coi'ing lip 2'? is provided ill ouch longilurlinztl extremity thereoi, cities 1; the hracl-rr-t 6 and having the recess [each tenninzal for the admission of the clmimel 2 and ("he upriglrl' l0.
an the foregoing it will readily be seen t to remove the brackets 6 from the slots in this manner lithe the shelviri'g zlpart, the some ore raised to disengage the notch 1-3 from the lower extremity oi": the said slots I inn zen d Patented Au 2, 191 0,
and are reeiprocated in the upright. 10 thus disengaging the rear end from the channel 2 and permitting the forward upright to be removed, consequently retaining the entire bracket.
Having thus fully described my invenhon What I claim as new and desire to secure by U. S. Letters Patent is 1. Ashelving comprising oppositely disposed uprights having extreme registering ets and intermediate vertical openings, a partition adapted to be received in said verticel openings and adapted to be secured to said rear upright, brackets interposed be tween said upri hts and having means disposed therein ?or engagement with said slots, and shelves engaging and resting on said brackets.
