EMIL A. FESTERLING, OF ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS.
GAME APPARATUS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 12, 1910.
Application filed March 19, 1910. Serial No. 550,548.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMIL A. FEsTnRLINc, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rockford, in the county of Winnebago and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to provide a game apparatus comprising a board provided with a plurality of holes within which are placed removable plugs, each containing a number, the plugs capable of being pushed out of the holes.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a face representation of my improved game apparatus. Fig. 2 is a side elevation. Fig. 3 is a section on dotted line a a Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a side elevation in which the board is in its operative position. Fig. 5 is a View of one of the plugs.
The board comprises the back 1, having edges 2, and ends 3 and 4. A front 5 is separated some distance from the back, and is secured to the sides 2 and upper end 3, but does not reach to the lower end 4, thereby leaving a space 6. The front is formed with holes 7 within which are located wood plugs 8, each containing a numeral or other markings.
To the sides 2 is pivoted a bail 9, having its projecting ends 10 adapted to contact with the stops 11, when the board is in the position shown at Fig. 4, which will hold the board in an inclined position.
In use, the board is inclined as shown at Fig. 4, the plugs are forced inward and will follow the back of the board and will either roll out or lodge on the lower end of the board as shown at Fig. 4.
Different games may be played by the use of the plugs which are suitably numbered or otherwise designated.
I claim as my invention.
A game apparatus comprising a back board and a front suitably separated, the front being shorter than the back, the front provided with holes, and plugs removably located in the holes, and the plugs containing designated characters.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
EMIL A. FE STERLING.
