Various slight changes might be made in the general form and arrangement'of parts described Without departing from my invention, and bencel do not restrict myself to the precise details set "forth, but consider myself at liberty to make such changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a derrick, the combination with a mast and a beam, of a link pivotally connected at one end to the mast and at its outer end to the beam between the ends of the latter, and a pair of links pivotally conmast at a nected to the beam and mast near their up per ends, substantially as set forth.
2. In a derrick, the con'lbinatioi'l with a mast and a beam, of a link pivotally connected at one end to the mast'and at its outer end to the beam l)(Et'v\'L'(?l1lll(. ends of the latter, links above the first mentioned link pivotally connecting the mast and the beam, and plates secured to the firs-timeotioned link between their ends and between which the end of 'said beam is adapted to be secured when detached from said upper links.
3. In a derrick, the combination with a must, of oertorated plates secured to the point removed -from its lower end, a beam, perforated plates secured .to the beam between the ends of the latter, a link pizotally connected at its ends between the plates on the mast and the lates on the beam, perforated plates secured to the Hider; of said link, upper links pirotally secured tothe mast and to the beam, said beam adapted to be swung to'a. position between the plates on the lower link and secured between the plates on the lower link.
4. In a derrick, the combination with a mast: and a beam, of a link pivotally connecting the lower portion of the mast with the beam betwccnthc ends of the latter, an upper pairot links connecting the upper portions of the beam and mast, a lifting cable connected to the free end of the beam,
a second cable connected to the beam at. its pivotal juncture with the lower link, a third cable connected to the upper end of the beam, and means for o 'ierating said cables, 7
