To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, LOUISE B. LARInoN, New York, have invented a new and usefulGannent-Stifi'ener, which invention is fully set forth in the following specification.

This rib or stiffenin -element 8 is made of any suitable stiff, though flexible, material, such materials as whalebone, celluloid, and

The fastener of the present invention is in the form ofa stud and eye connection, one member of which is attached to the flap and the other of which is formed in or on the rib or stiffening-element. In the drawing, the'stud 10is shown as attached to the end of the flap 9, and the eye 11 as formed in the rib or stiffening-element 8. An opening, registering with this eye, is formed in the pocket 7.

As it may sometimes be desirable to have the rib or stiffening-element 8 removable from pocket 7 at either end, both ends may be provided with fastenable flaps 9, as illustrated in Fig. 4.
