To all whom "it may concern;
Be it known that I, GEORGE S. Cox, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fitzwatertown, county of Montgomery, and
have invented a new Narp Beams, l a full, c ear, and j and useful Improvement in exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of'this specification.
My invention has for its object to produce l a warp beam madeentirely of metal, or substantially so, to take the place of the solid wooden beam heretofore most generally used.

The beam at consists of a hollow meta-ll cylinder carrying the adjustable beam heads 1 7), the adjustable brake pulleys n and the end heads (I carrying the trunnions e. lhe wall of the beam is provided with a series of pairs ofholes f, each pair of holes being adapted to receive a cord 9", one end of which is passed into the interior of the beam through one hole of a pair and thence tothe exterior of the beam through the other hole, the cord serving as a means of fastening together a number of adjacent warp, ends. By this means, the beam head may be firmly held at any point to which it is adjusted and at the same time the pressure of the beam head against the beam is equalized by reason of the regular distribution of the set screws around the periphery of the beam.

Each trunnion c has secured thereto the heads cl d, whose external diameter is substantially the same as the inner diameter of the beam, so that when the heads are pushed or driyen into the openends of the beam cylinder, they will fit substantially tightly therein. The heads (1 d are spaced apart on the trunnion 6, one head being fixed on the inner end thereof and the other being fixed at some distance from the'inner end.' The trunnion d is moved inwardly until the outer head is substantially flush with the end of the beam cylinder. After the trunnion is thus placed in position, it may be permanently secured to 'the beam, by means of rivets an engaging the cylinder and the tru'nnion heads.
Having now fully described m invention, what I claim and desire to protect by Letters Patent is I l. A warp beam comprising a cylinder provided with a series of pairs of holes of which the holes of a pair communicate one with another in the interior of the cylinder, thereby permitting a cord to be passed through both holes of a pair and tied 0n the outside to afiord a means of fastening to- -fices in which the screw orifices of a pair are arranged diametrically opposite to eachother and in which the orifices are arranged at substantially equal distances around the and set screws to be tightened circumference of the flanges, in said orifices adapted agamst the cylinder.
