To all whom it may concern: I Be it known thatl, J OHN O. ROTERMUND, citizen of the United States, residing at Eureka, in the county of Humboldt and State of California, have nvented certain new and useful Improvements in Toy'Guns, of which the following is a specification, reference being .had therein to the accompanying drawin This invention relates to toy guns, and has for its object the production of av gun which can be safely handled by children and, at the same time, will bevery realistic.

Another object of this invention is the production of a gun which is simple in construction and consists of a comparatively small numberof parts.

\Vith these and other objects in view, this invention consists of certainnovel constructions, combinations. and arrangements of parts as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed. L p

Referring to the drawings by numerals, '1 designates the body portion which comprises a barrel portion 2 and a stock portion 3. Near the junction of thebody portion 2 and the stock portion 3 is formed a socket 4 in which is pivotally mounted a' wheel 5, which wheel is provided with a. plurality of fingers 6 which act astriggers. A triggerguard 7 is secured to the under face of the stock portion 3 by means of screws or other suitable fastening means 8'. In the upper face, of the stock portion 3 is formed a sl ot body portion of the socket 9 and securely 9 in which is positioned a spring 10. The spring 10 is provided with a depending port1on.11 which is disposed at an angle to the spring, and the deis positioned in the held therein. The slot 9 is normally closed by means of a lid or cover 12 which fits in said slot, and the cover 12 is provided in'the center with a tongue portion 13 .which fits in said slot, and the cover 12 is beveled upon 'the pending portion 11 face ofthe stock portion.

Therefore, it W1ll38 obvious that this invention can be readily used by children without an danger of injuring themselves, and, at t e same time, will be veryrealistic and amusing.

What I claim is:

1. A toy gun comprising a bod provided with a recess near the junction 0 the barrel and stock, a wheel provided with a plurality of fingers constituting triggers pivoted in said recess, said gun provided with a longitudinally-extending slot formed upon the stock portion thereof and communicating with said recess, a spring positioned in said slot and secured at one end to said stock, and thefother end adapted to engage one of said fingers for the purpose specified.-

2. A toy gun comprising a body provided with a socket, a finger-Wheel positioned in said socket, said body provided upcn the top of the stock portion thereof with a longitudinally-extending slot communicating with said socket, a spring provided with a depending end positioned in the stock portion of the body,

a cover positioned in said slot for closing the same, and said spring adapted to act as aclapper upon the bottom of slot 9 when said wheel is rotated.

3. A toy gun comprising a body provided with a socket, a wheel provided with a plurality of outwardly-extending fingers p0S1- tioned in 'said socket, said body provided with a slot formed in the top portion thereof, a spring secured in said body and adapted -to enga e one of said fingers for the purpose an inwardly-extendin g specific a -cover fitting in said slot and said cover provided with tongue fitting in said slot and with a flange beveled upon the upper face thereof. extending around the edge of .said cover, and a trigger-guard secured to the lower end of said body and adapted to act as a guard for protecting said trigger. 1 In testimony whereof I hereunto afiix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
