tubes, standing on end, as represented in the drawing, and the tubes gently held in the groove, while the holder is rolled over on the rockers, by which the tube is delivered the other end up, without damage to its form, as will be clearly understood.

The boards wherein the tubes are required to stand, may be, while the tube is turning, transferred to receive the tubes again when delivered.

There are various ways for applying this device. For instance, it may be balanced on pivots, or attached to a large bit-t, and made to revolve around pulleys, or wheels may be attached, so that whilst in the hori zontal position the tubes could be transported to different parts of the drying room.

I do not, therefore, desire to limit myself to the arrangement herein sbown.

lhe holder could have flaps attached to one or both sides. Spring-catches or a claw could be secured to the lower end ot' the holder, in such a position that when the holder is placed by the side of the pipe, the claws, iaps, or spring-catches will extend under the board upon which 'the pipe rests, to raise the board, vwhen the holder is thrown back, simultaneously with the raising of the pipes. The boards upon which the pipes rest are always elevated s'ufciently above the floor for putting the claws or other devices underneath.

Having thus described my invention,

I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A concave pipe-holder, provided with rockers, or other equivalent means', for turning pipes, substantially as specified.

Be it known that I, Vif'lLLiAM WAssALL, of Wellsville, in the county of Columbiana, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and improved Apparatus for Turning Heavy Clay-Pipe; and I do` hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the ait to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part ot' this specification.

The object of this invention is to provide a simple and cheap device for turning clay sewer-pipe while in a plastic condition, which it is important, and sometimes absolutely necessary, to do in the manufacture of the saine.

rlhe invention consists of a semicircular holder for the tube, arranged on rockers, pivots, or otherwise, and adapted for standing on and beside the ti1be,'whieh stands on a board or floor, so that the tube may be tilted into or with the holder, as the latter is rotated on the rockers, to turn the upper end down, all substantially as herein specied.

A represents a sernicircular holder, tbe groove or concave `face ot' which should he the saine curvature as the tubes to be turned.

B represents rockers, which may be either formed on regular curves, or with three or more plane faces, as shown in the drawing. These rockers are applied to the rear of the holder, so that it may be rolled \V1LLIAM VASSALL.
