To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, \VALTER LEIGHTON CLARK, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Razor- Cases, of which the following is a specification.

This invention is intended to provide a simple, practical and inexpensive box or case for holding a Gillette razor, together with a number of extra blades for the same, and resides in certain features of construction and arrangement hereinafter set forth.

A case constructed in accordance with my invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which,

The body portion of my case comprises a block 2 which is preferably made of wood and given the form of a cylinder of substantially the same length as a Gillette razor, one end of which block 2 provides a flat top surface from which a number of recesses or pockets extend downward. These pockets include a central pocket 3 adapted to receive the handle of the razor, two shallow pockets a located on opposite sides of the central pocket and arranged to receive the positioning pins which project in the same direction as the handle from the head of the razor, and one or more other pockets 5 of a suitable size to receive a number of extra blades for the razor. Said pockets 5 are preferably two in number, in which case they are located on opposite sides of the line of pockets 3 and 4, as shown in Fig. 2, and are given such a depth that the upper ends of the blades will project above the top of the block 2 sufliciently to enable said blades to be readily grasped and removed by the user, and the depth of the pockets 8 and 4 is such that when the handle and the positioning pins of the razor are inserted therein the head of the razor will rest upon the supporting surface provided by the flat top of the block 2, where it will be prevented from turning or moving laterally by the engagement of its positioning pins with the walls of the pockets l, a razor and a number of extra blades being shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1 in the positions above referred to.

In connection with the body portion of the case I employ a cover therefor consisting of a block 6 carrying a piece of tubing 7 or otherwise provided with a hollow portion adapted to be slid upon the upper end of the block 2 for a sutficient distance to hold the cover in place, said tube 7 being preferably seated against a shoulder 8 formed on the block 6 and secured to the latter by pins 9. In the construction illustrated the lower portion of the block 2 is surrounded by a jacket 10 consisting of another piece of tubing of the same diameter as the tube 7 and bearing against a shoulder 11 provided near the lower end of said block 2. This jacket 10 may be secured to the block 2 by causing it to fit the same tightly, or by means of pins 12, and the parts of the case are preferably so proportioned that when the cover is applied to the body portion of the case the lower edge of the tube 7 will seat upon the upper edge of the jacket 10 and thereby support the block 6 at such a distance above the top of the block 2 as to provide between them a space of just suflicient depth to receive the head of the razor and .the projecting ends of the extra blades. Thus when the, razor and blades are inserted into the respective pockets in the body portion and the cover is applied thereto the inner surface of said cover will bear against the outer face of the head of the razor and hold the latter against endwise movement, and the blades as well, so that the contents of the case will be concealed and protected and also prevented from moving about and rattling therein.

My invention thus provides an eflicient case for the purpose specified which may evidently be produced at very small expense, but it is to be understood that the external configuration of the case and the construction and arrangement of its various parts may be considerably varied without departing from the main features of my invention,

which is characterized by the employment of a body portion adapted to support the head of the razor and having pockets or spaces to receive the parts depending therefrom and hold the same in place.

I claim as my invention:

1. A razor case comprising a body portion formed from a solid block which is recessed at one end to provide a central pocket of suflicient size to receive the handle of a Gillette razor and additional pockets located on opposite sides of the central pocket to receive the positioning pins of the razor, and a cover adapted to be closed over the recessed end of the block and form an obstruction to limit endwise movements of said. razor.

2. A razor case comprising a body portion formed from a solid block Which is recessed. at one end to provide a central pocket of sutficient size to receive the handle of a Grillette razor and additional pockets located on opposite sides of the central pocket to receive the positioning pins of the razor, said end of the block being also provided With one or more supplementary pockets to re ceive extra blades, and a cover adapted to be closed over the recessed end of the block and form an obstruction to limit endwise movements of said razor and blades.

3. A razor case comprising a body portion and a cover formed from two solid blocks of like cross section, a tube carried by said cover and adapted to telescope over one end of the body portion, and a tubular jacket surrounding said body portion and forming a stop for limiting the telescopic movement of the cover, whereby a space suflicient to receive the head of a Gillette razor is provided between the body portion and cover, said body portion being recessed at its covered end to provide pockets adapted to receive the handle and positioning pins of said razor.

4. A. razor case comprising a body portion and a cover formed from two solid blocks of circular cross section and equal diameter, one end of the body portion being recessed to provide pockets adapted to receive respectively the handle and positioningpins of a Gillette -razor and extra blades therefor, and said cover being provided With a tubular portion adapted to telescope over the recessed end of the body portion and bring the under side of the cover into position to prevent endWise movement of said razor and blades.
