Casings; and I do declare the following to y be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the. same. i
This invention relates to a combined shaving mug and brush casing and is especially adapted for use by traveling salesmen, the object of the invention being to provide a casing which is adapted to hold both the shaving mug and brush and in which the portion used to receive the handle of the brush may be arranged as a handle for holding the casing and shaving mug steady while the brush is applied to the soap.
Vit-h the foregoing and other objects in View, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as will be more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective view, illustrating the application of the device; Fig. 2 is a verticall transverse section taken through the body of the casing; Fig. 3 is a similar view taken through the handle portion of the casing; Fig. 4L is a plan view, the lid of the body and upper portion of the handle swung open; and Fig. 5 is a central longitudinal sectional view.
Referring to the drawings for a more particular description of the invention, the casing comprises a cylindrical body l adapted to receive the shaving mug and a lateral extension 2 of approximately semicircular form in cross section which is properly shaped to receive the lower half of the handle of the brush, the upper edge of the extension lying flush with the upper edge of the body 1. The body l is provided with a hinged cover 3 and the extension with a hinged upper section 4L which is formed to fit the upper half of the handle of the brush.
In the application of the device, the upper section i of the extension 2 may be raised to provide for the removal of the brush when the requisite amount of water may be placed in the shaving mug and the section t lowered, forming with the extension 2 a handle which may be grasped by one hand to steady the casing and shaving mug while the brush is applied to the soap with the other hand to form the lather.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the construction and operation of the invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation.
Various changes in the form, proportion and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention, asV defined in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is:
1. A casing of the class described comprising a cylindrical body adapted to receive a shaving mug and a hollow lateral extension adapted to receive the lower portion of a brush handle, a hinged cover for the body of the casing, and a hinged upper section for said extension, the hinged upper section forming in conjunction with the hollow extension a handle which maybe grasped by one hand while the brush is applied to the soap.
.2. A shaving mug and brush receptacle comprising a cylindrical body provided with a hollow lateral extension, the body being adapted to receive a shaving mug and the extension the lower portion of the brush, a hingedcover for the body of the casing, and a hinged upper section for the extension, said upper section being movable independently of the cover and when closed forming with the extension a handle which is adapted to be grasped by one hand while the brush is applied to the soap with the other hand.
