BEER-SKIMMER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS F. IWARTIN, a citizen of the United States, residincr at St. Paul, in the county of Ramsey and btate of Minnesota, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Beer-Skimmers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates more particularly to a skimmer which can be easily and quickly attached to the nozzle or spout of a beer faucet so that when a glass of beer is drawn, the foam can be removed by passing the mouth of the cup below the skimmer.
The primary object of my invention is to provide a device which will skim the foam ofi of a cup or glass of beer, which is simple and inexpensive in construction and which is detachable from its support.
A further object is to provide a sanitary skimmer which can be changed in position and will not 11121 or deface a faucet when attached thereto.
In the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, Figure 1 is a per spective view of my invention shown mounted upon a beer faucet, and Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the mounting and a detail portion of the skimming blade.
My invention consists of a vertical or up wardly extending horizontal blade 2 which is formed with an integral collar 3 extending horizontally from the inner end of said blade. This device is adapted to be mounted upon the nozzle or spout I of a beer faucet 5 and can be turned in any horizontal position desired. Between the collar and the nozzle of the faucet is interposed a soft rubber or other resilient bushing 6 which is formed with an annular groove 7. In this groove the collar 3 is admitted the thickness of that portion of the bushing immediately adjoining the inner surface of the collar being suflicient to tightly bind and support the blade of the faucet. The bushing is formed with a depending extension 8 which is cut away at 9 so as to expose the surface of the nozzle of the faucet for ornamental purposes.

10 represents a detail of a bar fixture on which the faucet is mounted in the ordinary manner.
In use when a. cup or glass of beer is drawn from the faucet, the edge of the cup is carried over the lower edge of the skiinming blade 2 and the foam thus quickly and casilv removed. The blade can be swung on its support into the most convenient position for use.
In accordance with the patent statutes I have described the principles of operation of my invention together with apparatus which I now consider to represent the best embodiment thereof but I desire to have it understood that the construction shown is only illustrative and that the invention can be carried out by other means and applied to uses other than those above set forth within 'the scope of the following claims.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is 1. A skimmer for attachment to the nozzle of a faucet, comprising a blade extending outwardly from the side of said nozzle and having a horizontal collar at one end and substantially resilient bushing interposed between said collar and the nozzle of said faucet.
2. A skimmer for attachment to the nozzle of a faucet, comprising a blade having a collar around said nozzle at one end and a bushing interposed between said collar and the nozzle of said faucet and formed wit-h a downwardly projecting sleeve cut away at one side to expose said nozzle; said blade extending outwardly from the side of said nozzle and its sides resting in a substantially vertical plane.
