FRANK KAUFMAN, or CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, AssIGNoR To WILLIAM GOODROW, OF CHICAGO, 1 ILLINOIS.
PAPER WRAPPER FOR MOLDINGS, 85e.
No. 922,772. Specification of To all whom it may concern: l
Be it known thatv I, FRANK KAUFMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago7 in the county of VCook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Iaper Wrappers for Moldings, &c., of which the following is a specifica tIon.
This invention relates to paper wrappers adapted to retain and protect moldings, picture frame strips and other highly finished articles when they are stored away or being transported for use.
The essential object is to make a series of paper wrappers from several strips of paper pasted together and provided with double alternate perfor-ations, thus forming, in ef- I'ect, a number ol' complete paper wrappers capable of being readily separated one from another when needed for use.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of these improved paper wrappers as manufactured; Fig. 2 an end elevation thereol' showing molding stri )s retained therein;` and Fig 3 a detail of mo ding of various sizes incased by wrappers.
These improved paper wrappers are made from several broad paper strips 3 and 4 properly placed upon each other and pasted together longitudinally thereof as at 5 at predetermined distances` thereon. Upon the longitudinal pasted strips 5 double'perforations 6 are made, said perl'orations being parallel and arranged in alternate or staggered relation with respect to one another, l'or strengthening the respective Wrapper sections formed therein: and for the further purpose ol' enabling the respective wrapper sections to be readily separated from one another without the liability ol' injuring the next adjacent wrapper section, as is often the Application filed February 23, 1909.

case when but one perforation is used. The utility of this parallel alternate arrangement of perforations is considerable in that it enables the user to quickly and accurately tear one wrapper section from the other, the small tearing space or narrow strip 7 between the wrapper perforations being torn apart and away from the respective sections without any consequent injury to the wrappers themselves.
In use, due regard is first had to the size and form of the moldings, picture frame strips, frame borders, or other highly iinished and attractive articles which are tor be 'inserted therein; and the wrappers for practical purposes are usually made slightly larger in size than the circumference of the articles to be retained and protected therein.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Lettersy Patent is:
1. As a new article of manufacture, paper wrappers formed from strips 'of paper pasted longitudinally upon each other at given distances" apart, and having double alternate staggered perforations upon the pasted see- `tions, substantially as described.
2. As a new article of manufacture, paper wrappers formed from two broad strips of paper pasted longitudinally upon each other at given distances apart, and double. parallel alternately arranged perfor-ations upon said longitudinal pasted strips, forming independent tearing spaces between the double. perforations, the respective completed wrappers capable ol' being readily separated from one another wit-hout injury to the next ad jacent wrapper, substantially as described.
