Description
E. N OELLE, SEPARABLE BUTTON.
APPLICATION FILED nno.'1s,19o7-.
Patented ma 4, 1909.
@772 V817 for:
v witness.
EWALD NOELLE, OF LUDENSGHEID, GERMANY.
SEPARABLE BUTTON.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 4, 1909.
Application filed December 13, 1907. Serial No. 406,849.
To all whom "Lt-may concern:
Be it known that I, EWALD NOELLE, a subject of the German Emperor, and resident of Liidenscheid, Germany, have invented a Separable Button, of which the following is a specification.
The resent invention relates to a button in whici a pin of one part of the button is held in position by a spring plate resting on a shoulder provided in the button head.
In the present invention the spring plate, resting on a shoulder provided in the button head is held in position by two or more inward swellings rovided in the button head. By this means t e s ring plate can be so fixed in the button heat that there is sufficient space above the spring plate for the pin, wlhieh has been pressed through the spring ate.
p In the accompanying drawing is shown a constructional form of the present invention.
Figure 1 shows the two parts of the button separated. Fig. 2 shows the two parts connected together and to a piece of cloth. Fig. 3 shows a plan of the button head, the cover plate being removed. Fig. 4 shows a side elevation, and plan of the spring plate.
In the button head is arranged a spring plate 2, which is adapted to hold in position a pin 3 fixed to the button part 4 and pressed into the press plate. The spring plate is held in position by means of swellings 5 provided in the button head, which said swellings are pressed into the button head, or formed in a similar manner so that they form projections over the spring plate which rests on shoulders provided in the button head and thus hold it in position. The swellings may be either circular, pointed or the like.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A button constructed of two parts, comprising in combination, a steel spring plate provided with a hole and slits, clips stamped out of one of the said button parts, for fixing the said spring plate to said part, a pin provided on the other of said button parts, said pin being provided with grooves at its end, and passed into the hole in the steel spring plate where it is held firmly, substantially as described and shown.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
IEWALD NOELLE.
