IMPROVEMENT IN PLOW-CULTIVATORS.

To all whom 'it may concern:

Be it known that I, E. S. HUFF, of Zanesville, in the county of Muskingum, and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Plow-Cultivators; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, and in which- Figure l represents a perspective view of my invention, and

Figure 2, a vertical central section of the same.

The object of this invention is to furnish a suitable means for raising or lowering the handles of a cultivator, thereby adapting it to the stature of the person working it and facilitating the operation of cultivation and to this end,

My invention consists in the employment of a circular or otherwise-shaped metal plate, provided with openings, through which may be inserted screws for securing it to the centre beam of' the cultivator, and formed on its upper sides, with two bars or projections cliverging outward from each other, and supplied at their upper ends with arms or pivoted braces, which are designed to be attached to the handles of the cultivator.

In the accompanying drawing- A represents an oval-shaped metal plate, which is provided with two openings, a a, through which are inserted screws entering the centre beam of the cultivator.

By `means of this arrangement, as already intimated above, the handles of the cultivator can be easily and readily raised or'lowered upon the standard F, attached to the beam g, which are designated by the red lines, thereby rendering the cultivator manageable by persons of diierent statures.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The employment of the metal plate A, constructed with the bars or projections c c, supplied with the pivoted arms b b, in combination with the handles of a cnltivator, and arranged substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
