`GEORGE R. MOORE, OF PHILADELPHIA,PENNSYLVANIA Letters Patent No. 91,761,11lateelK June 22, 1869.
IMPROVEMENT IN LEVERS FOR OPERATING- WATER-CLQSET PLANS AND VALVES.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and `making part of the same.
To all 'whom it may concerl'n Be it known that I, GEORGE R. MOORE, of the city and county ot Philadelphia, in the State ofPeniisyl- Vania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in lVater-Closet Levers for Pau'aud Valve; and
I do hereby declare that the following is a full and-exact description thereof, reference being had to `the ac v`company-'ing drawings, and to the letters of reference and eccentric, G, ivhichcounects, at b with a lever, to
operate the pan in the usual ufaiy.`
Figure 2-is a plan or top vieu? of the same. Figure 3 is a top view ot the removable section of A A. Figure 4 shows how the pull-rod C connects with the pivoted nut E.
Figure 5 is a plan View ofthe pivoted nut E. The holes la a a a in the level' are optional bearings for the nut E. The bisectious ofthe lever A A are held together by the ordinary bolt F, usedin closet-levers, and have one end extending through the eccentric G, for an axle to the same.V The squareb, inthe eccentric, is fastened to a lever, which holds and operates the pan, all in the usual manner.
By unscrewing the nut I-I upon the bolt F, the sections of the lever may be parted, and the pivoted nut E moved to any of its several bearings a a a a, by which the pull is brought more or less remote from the axis of the lever; also, the pull-rod C may he screwed, at pleasure, through the nut E, and thus all the desired adjusta-bility of the pull to the lever is cheaply and conveniently obtained.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:- l. `The lever A A, constructed manner and for the purpose `herein set forth.
substantially in the 2. Thepivoted nut E, combined with the leverA'A and the pull-rod O, substantially inthe manner and for the purposes herein set forth.
' GEO. MOORE'.
