To all whom itamty concern:
Be it known that I, IRA VYEAMANS, of the city of Brooklyn, in the countyrof Kings, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Coffee-Pots; and I do hereby declare that the followingis .a full, clear, and exact description, thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification.
This invention relatesto improvements in coiieepots, teapots, and other similar vessels for table use, employed for holding liquids yto be poured into drinking-cups, and is designed to so arrange them as to avoid the necessity of raising or turning them, as required in the use of these vessels as now constructed.
The invention consists in mounting suoli vessels on trunnions for turning in avertical plane, the saidl trunnion-supports beingalso capable of revolving in a horizontal plane. Y

I provide a stand, A, preferably of metal, and of any preferred form or design, having in its vertical axis a step B, for a. spindle, C, ofa horizontal turn-table, E, having two brackets, F, rising from opposite sides, 'and provided with horizontal bearings, for mounting the trunnions G, of the coffee-pots or other vessels H, so
as to permit them to turn freely, both horizontally and vertically, for pouring, whereby the labor of liftingand holding the said vessels while pouring is saved.
To arrest the movement of 4the vesselsat the right point, in returning to the normal position,and prevent continuous swinging, I provide stops near the bottom, ,at the rear, to strike the top oi the turn-table; and to lessen the effect of the concussion, I provide springs K, of India rubber or other substance, either on the stops or on the turn-table.
My improvements are applicable to all such vessels as are used for holding liquids to be poured in small quantities'and frequently. v
Instead ofseouring the trunnions in their bearings, by caps Land pins M, as represented in the drawings, I may, if preferred, dispense with them, leaving the trunnions free to permit the vessels to be lifted oli` or y on freely.
