Be it known that l, Enniisr WOLFE, a citizenrof the United States, and residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toy Drums, of which the following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to .vhichit a pertains to make and use the same.

. his invention relates to toy drums in which the heads are composed of sheet metal, and the object thereof is to provide drum of this class which may be played by a child drum constructed according to my invention, and ;Fig. 2 a transverse section ,on the line 22 of Fig. i.

In the practice of my invention, 1 provide a toy drum o, the body portion of which is preferably composed of sheet metal, and rovided with heads I) also composed of s set metal, and in the form of construction shown the heads i) are countersunk in the ends of the body portion of the drum. tic-e will enable t In my improvement, as shown, one of the heads I; is provided with parallel corrogations b forming corresponding parallel grooves, and the said corrugations and corresponding grooves are formed in the said head by a suitable die or press before the head is secured in the body portion of the drum. In playing my improved drum, all that is necessary, is to pass the drum sticks rapidly over the corrugations b in either direction, or by passin said drum sticks backwardly and/forwar y across said corrugations, and this may be done without any previous experience or practice, anda very pleasin result is roduced, and a little praclie operator to play almost any tune or air on the drum.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. A drum comprising a single cylindrical body provided with two heads one of which is metallic and provided with transverse parallel corrugations forming parallel ridges and corresponding parallel grooves.
