WINDOW-FIXTURE Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 23, 1909.
Application filed April 15, 1908. Serial No. 427,230.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, NEWTON M. Haney, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Monongahela city, in the county of Washington and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in l/Vindow-Fixtures, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to window fixtures, particularly designed for supporting curtain poles and curtain shade rollers.
The object of my invention is to provide a simple, inexpensive and durable iixture that can be easily placed in engagement with the window for supporting a curtain pole and a curtain shade roller.
Briefly described, I construct two brackets, each of which is made of a single piece of wire bent to provide a curtain pole support and a curtain shade roller.
In describing the invention in detail, refer ence will be had to the accompanying drawing which forms a part of this specification and in which,
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a fixture in accordance with this invention also showing in dotted lines a curtain pole and a curtain shade roller in position upon the fixture. Fig. 2 is a sectional side elevation of one of the brackets, and, Fig. 3 is a transverse section.
To put my invention into practice, 1 provide two brackets for supporting the ends of a curtain pole and curtain shade roller. Each bracket is constructed of a single piece of wire, which is bent upon itself and shaped to form a hook shaped support 1 for a curtain pole 2. One end of the piece of wire is formed to provide a screw or nail 3, while the opposite end is bent downwardly, as at 4 to form an eyelet 5, and is then bent upwardly and twisted upon the opposite end of the wire as at 6. The eyelet 5 is adapted to support the pintle at one end of the curtain shade roller 7, while the opposite end thereof is supported in a hook shaped holder 8 provided therefor in connection with the bracket at that end of the curtain shade roller.
My window fixture can be painted or coated to present a neat appearance, and can be made of any kind of material that can be shaped to conform. to my fixture.
Having now described my invention what I claim as new, is
A window fixture comprising a bracket formed from a single piece of wire bent upon itself to constitute an outer and an inner arm, said outer arm having a longitudinally extending portion with the inner terminus thereof screw threaded whereby the bracket can be connected to a suitable support, said longitudinally extending portion terminating forwardly in a depending U-shaped portion constituting one-half of the curtain pole sup port, said inner arm having a longitudinally extending portion extending in parallelism with respect to the longitudinal portion of the outer arm and terminating forwardly in a depending U-shaped portion constituting the other half of the curtain pole support, said U-shaped portion of the inner arm arranged in parallelism with respect to the U- shaped portion of the outer arm and terminating in said U-shaped portion of the outer arm, said longitudinally extending portion of the inner arm terminating rcarwardly in a curvilinear depending portion, which terminates in an upwardly extending portion arranged for a portion of its length in parallelism with respect to said curvilinear depcnding portion, said last mentioned upwardly extending portion looped upon the longitudinally extending portion of the outer arm rearwardly of said last mentionedcurvilinear depending portion, said last mentioned curvilinear depending portion and said last mentioned upwardly extending portion connected together and bent at the low er terminus thereof to constitute a pintle seat.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
NEWTON M. HANEY.
