ERNEST A. HOEN, OF RICHMOND, VIRGINIA.
TICE@ T.
-To all whom it may concern: i
Be it known that I, ERNEST A. Henn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Richmond, in the county of Henrico, State of Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tickets; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear,'and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.V
This invention relates to that class of tickets which are fastened or made together in a series of two or more.
Tickets heretofore, when made in a series of two or more, have been 'made4 in a rectangular shape, and each ticket in the series cut in a rectangular shape.
In my invention I cut the series of tickets in the shape of an oblique parallelogram, and each ticket in the series is in the shape of an oblique parallelogram. n l
The object of my invention is to render the detachment or separation of the tickets more sure and with less tronble and less loss of time, and without the detachment of more than one ticket at a time, if so desired. This I accomplish by having the set or series of tickets cut in the shape of an oblique parallelogram, and each ticket in the series in the shape of an oblique parallelogram, so that when folded, the end of one ticket will protrude or extend over the next one in the series. To facilitate lthe folding and insure uniformityT of size of each ticket in the seriesl an indented, perforated or scored line lwill be impressed between each ticket, in the'usual manner.
In the drawings: Figure 1 is a plan view of a sheet or strip of tickets embodying my invention, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the strip folded into a pack.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Applicatonled January 23, 1907. Serial No. 353,758.
Patented Feb. 2, 1909.
The embodiment of my invention selected for illustration comprises a stri 1 of flexible material having its ongitudina edges 2 and 3 parallel to each other and the respective transverse edges 4 and 5 as well as the fold lines 6 which are the lines of severence for the tickets are parallel to one another but at angles other than right angles with respect to the longitudinal edges, the form of strip shown being substantially an oblique parallelogram. The fold lines 6 are so arranged that when the strip is folded along said lines to form a pack as shown in Fig. 2 the end of one ticket overlaps the end of an adjacent ticket and thus facilitates the removal of a ticket from the pack by enabling the holder to readily grasp the ticket to be detached and remove it from the pack. The form of the detached ticket as shown in the drawing will have straight side edges and inclined end edges but in practice the particular form of ticket will depend upon the shape of the strip before it is folded.
Having thus described my invention, what'I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A series of tickets cut in the shape of an oblique parallelogram, with each ticket in the series in the shape of an oblique parallelogram.
2, A strip comprising series of tickets said strip beingcut in the shape of an obliqueV parallelogram.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
ERNEST A. HGEN. Vitnesses T. R. A. BURKE,
B. M. TYLER.
