Description

G. LOGAN.
FILM HOLDER.
APPLICATION FILED MAB. 5, 1906.
902,153. Patented Oct. 27, 1908.
WITNESSES: INVENTOH ATTORNEY To all whom ii may concern:
GAYLORD LOGAN, or ALBANY, NEW YORK.
. FILM-HQLDER. j
Be it known that I,- GAYLORD LOGAN, a citizen of the United States, and resident of.
Albany, in the county of Albany and State of New York, have invented-certain new and useful Improvements in Film-Holders, of
which the following is a specification.
. My invention has for its objecttd provide means adapted to holdand protect photo graphic films, so as to permit them to be readily. inspected without being handled,
and also to provide means to prevent oppositely disposed films from rubbing against each other. 'Such objects I accomplish by the means illustratedin the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 isa perspective view of a holder embodying my invention, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a separating leaf detached from the holder.
As illustrated in the drawings, B represents an elongated band provided with retaining strips, 1), preferably formed by fol'ding" the lateral margins ofthc band, B, over onto the-body of said band. The band, B, is divided into separate sections by means of creased transverse lines which permit the sections of the holder to be folded together.
The separate sections of the body of the band, B, are preferably cut away, forming.
openings 1/ in the sections. I' prefer in most instanees'to provide theband, B, with an auxiliary back of transparent material so as to furnish a support for the body of the films, such auxiliary backing may be made in one continuous strip, D, held in place by the retaining strips, b, or otherwise secured to the faceof the band, or individual leaves or transparent material may be secured. to the individual sections of the holder if desired. In order to. protect the faces of op ositely disposed films I prefer to insert etwe'en the sections of the holder an auxiliary separating sheet, 0, of paraffimpaper or other material having similar capabilities, which prevents the faces of two oppositel disposed films from rubbing together. Sai auxiliary separating sheets may be constructed with a binding strip, '0, which may befastened to the face of the band forming the holder or otherwise secured thereto, or left free from f i the holder.
Specification of Letters Patent.
, Application filed. March 5 1906. Serial 'No. 304,221.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is: d
1. A film holder comprising an elongated band divided into sections by means of Patented Oct/27,1908.
creased transverse lines, and having a back I mg of trans arent mater al, and retaining f- St'ri s exten ing along the outer portions of salt backing. a
2. A film into separate'seotions and a separating leaf holder comprising anelongated band having retaining strips folded over onto: the body of the band, and creased transverse .lines dividing said body and retaining strips arranged between two oppositely disposed sections,
' '3. A film holder having an elongated band I divided into sections by means of creased transverse lines and provided with retaining strips folded over on to the face of the band and with openings formed in said sections,
and aback formed of transparent material,
substantially as shown and described.
4. A film holder having an elongated band divided into sections by means of creased transverse lines, and provided with retaining strips folded over on to the face of said band, with a transparent back, and a separating leaf arranged between two opposite sections, substantiall as shown and described.
5.." A filmll an elonated band provided with retaining j stri s fo ded over on to the face of said band, an divided into sections by means of creased transverse lines, aback of transparent material, and a separating leaf of paraffin paper older having the combination of arranged between two opposite sections, substantia-ll asshown and described 6. A fil holder having 'an elongated band divided into sections by means of creased "transverse lines and provided with retainin strips folded over onto the face of the ban and with openings formed .in said sections substantially as shown and described.
Signed at Albany, in the county of Albany and State of New York this 21st day of February A. D. 1906. f
