From the foregoing it will be apparent that all parts of the attachment holder may be stamped from sheet metal, and thus a comparatively inexpensive construction is alfordedby the invention. If desired the upper and lower members of the folded portion of the plate embracing the horizontal extension 13 of the presserfoot shank may be provided with guiding apertures suitable for use as a braider or corder, as is fully described in my application Serial N 0. 412,406 filed simultaneously herewith.

Another advantage incidental to the improved construction, whereby attachments are frictionally but firmly held in working position, is the facility with which the different attachments may be adjusted laterally, or in a direction transverse to the line of sewing; thereby enabling the operator to stitch at any desired distance from the edges of the work, such adjustments being effected without the trouble of loosening and tightening set screws, as is usually necessary.

Having thus described my invention I claim and'desire to secure by Letters Patentz- 1. A sewing machine attachment holder consisting of a vertical presser-foot shank, and a sheet metal strip having an outwardly bent portion which is partly convex or rounded and thus forming, between itself and a vertical wall or surface of said shank, a partly rounded recess or opening adapted to hold' a shank of a sewing machine attachment.

2. A sewing machine attachment holder consisting of a vertical presser-foot shank having a horizontal extension, a folded strip of sheet metal having upper and lower members embracing said extension and thus forming a presser-foot, said strip having a vertical extension constructed to form, between itself and a vertical wall or surface of said shank, a horizontal opening suitable to receive the shank of a sewing machine attachment.

A sewing machine attachment holder comprising a presser-foot to the vertical portion or shank of which is secured a sheet zontal shank fitting said opening metal plate between which and the front wall of said shank is formed an opening, combined with an attachment having a horiand having also a horizontal linger below and separated from said horizontal shank of said attachment, said finger being arranged to bear frictionally against the top of the presserfoot proper, thus serving to assist in steadily securing the attachment frictionally in working position.

4:. A sewing machine attzurhment holder comprising a presser-foot to the vertical portion or shank of which is secured a. sheet metal plate between which and the front wall of said shank is formed an opening, combined with an attachn'ient having a horizontal shank fitting said opening and having also a horizontal finger bearing frictionally against the top of the presser-foot proper, and thus serving to assist in steadily securing the attachment frictionally in working position, said attachment also having a projecting lug, as 20, adapted to be pressed against in removing the attachment from the holder.

5. A sewing machine attachment holder consisting of a vertical presser-foot shank having a horizontal extension, a folded strip of sheet metal having upper and lower members embracing said extension and thus forming a presser-foot, said strip having av vertical extension constructed to form, between itself and a vertical wall or surface of said shank, a horizontal opening suitable to receive the shank of a sewing machine attachment, combined with an attachment having a horizontal shank lilting said opening and having also a horizontal finger bearing frictionally against the top of the presser-foot proper, and thus serving to assist in steadily securing the attachment frictionally in working position.
