To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, LoUIsE MARIE SHOE- MAKER, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Plate-Holders, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawmg.

This invention relates to a plate holder, and the primary object of my invention is the provision of novel means for safely suspending the plate from a hook or suitable support.

A further object of this invention is to provide a simple, inexpensive and durable plate holder that can be easily and quickly placed in engagement with a plate without injuring the same.

With the above and other objects in view which will more readily appear as the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be presently described and then specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

In the drawings :Figure 1 is a front elevation of my plate holder supporting a plate, Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same, and Fig. 3 is a front elevation of the plate holder with the plate removed. 7

To put my invention into practice, I construct a concave frame made of twisted Wire. The piece of wire is bent to provide an eyelet 1, an inner frame 2, an eyelet 3, an outer frame 4, with a plurality of plate gripiping eyelets 5, and is then bent upwardly to orm a loop 6 for suspending the holder from a suitable support. Continuing the wire passes downwardly through the eyelet 1 to form an outer frame 7 with plate gripping eyelets 8, said eyelets being oppositely disposed to the eyelets 5. The wire then passes through the eyelet 3 to form an inner frame 9 and is wrapped around the outer frame 4 adjacent to the uppermost eyelet 5 thereof, the end of said wire terminating in. close proximity to the opposite end thereof, directly be neath the loop 6. The ends of the wire are then soldered or otherwise connected together,'as at 10.

The inner frames 2 and 9 are adapted to support the back of the plate, while the edges thereof rest upon the outer frames and are held by the eyelets 5 and 8 thereof. By referring to Fig. 1 of the drawings, it will be observed that the decorated surface of the plate is fully exposed and that the eyelets 5 and 8 do not interfere with the design of the plate being observed.

The invention as above described is susceptible to such changes as are permissible by the appended claims.

Having now described my invention what I claim as new, is

1. A plate holder comprising an integral frame constructed of a piece of wire, said piece of wire being bent to form inner frames, outer frames, plate supporting eyelets carried thereby, and a loop above said inner and outer frames, substantially as described.

2. A plate holder comprising a concave frame constructed of a single piece ofwire, said piece of wire being bent to provide inner frames, outer frames, and eyelets for engaging the edges of a plate, substantially as described.
