To all whom 'it may concern .Be it known that I, B. L. STONE, ofthe city of Sau Francisco, in the county of San Francisco, and State of California, have invented a new and useful Toy, and known as Stones Magic Target, being a toy or game for the amusement ofeither children or grown persons; and I dohereby declare that the following' is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation ofthe saine, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure l is a front View.

Figure 2 is a side View.

Letter A is a target, painted and numbered, or lettered or-otherwise.

Letter-B is an ordinary screw for the purpose of fastening the target letter A to the place on the wall or otherwise, where required.

Letter C is an elastic India-rubber cord.

VLetter D is a piece of ordinary twine.`

Letter E is a dart, having a sharp steel barb.

The following is a description of the construction and operation of the same:

I make a wooden target, letter A, of' any size, and

vpainted with any device, and numbered or lettered or Otherwise.

Above the target, letter A, but in the wood forming a part of the saine, a hole is drilled, so as to allow of the introduction of the screw, letter B, so as to fasten the target, letter A, to the wall or to any other place where it may be desired.

Just below the screw, letter B, another hole is made for the purpose of fastening the elastic India-rubber cord, letter C, which elastic India-rubber cord, letter C, is about thirty inches in length, the oneend of which elastic India-rubber cord, letter 0,'is fastened to the target, letter A, as last described, and the other cordis fastened to a piece of twine, letter D, being about from two to three inches long, the other end of which twine, letter D, is fastened to the dart, letter E,

at the place Where the barb of the dart, letter E, is fastened. v f

The dart, letter E, is made of either hair, bristles, wood, feathers, or their equivalent, fastened to a steel ba-rb by means of twine or wire. The reason of using the piece of twine, letter D, fastened as described, to the dart, letter E, the other end of which is fastened to the elastic India-rubber cord, letter O, is, that if the elastic India-rubber cord, letter C, were fastened to the dart, letter E, in the same manner as the piece of twine, letter D, it would be likely to break very easily, as it has to bc fastened Very tightly, so that the addition ofthe piece of twine, letter D, materially strengthens the toy.

The operation of the toy after being constructed as above described, is merely to fasten the target, letter A, to such place as required by means of the screw, letter B. The dart, letter E, is then taken in the hand and pulled out from the target, letter A, a distance suicieut to stretch the elastic India-rubber cord, letter C, about twice its length. When it is released it will always strike the target, letter A, no matter at what angle from the target, letter A, it is held, the object of the game being to hit the centre of the target, letter A, or to score the highest number of points.

In the operation f this toy there can be no danger to children, as the dart, letter E, will always strike the' target, letter A.

Claim. What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The combination of target, letter A, with the (la-rt, letter E, bythe means of the elastic India-rubber cord,

'letter C, and the piece of twine, letter D, in the manner herein described, and for the uses and purposes hereinbefore mentioned.
