NECKTIE MAICER AND HOLDER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Louis C. WEDGEFUTH, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Necktie Makers and Holders, of which the following is a specification.
By means ofthis invention ties of various kindscan be readily made or held in place and in shape. The tie can be changed to suit as can likewise its material or fabric.
This invention is set forth in the following specification and claim and illustrated in the annexed drawing, in which:
Figure 1 shows a plate with arms, Fig. 2 shows a fabric tied about the plate and arms to form a so called four-in-hand, Fig. 3 is a vertical section of Fig. 2, Fig. 4 shows the fabric or ribbon tied into another shape, Fig. 5 is a vertical section of Fig. 4, Fig. 6 shows the plate and arms with a bow tie, Fig. 7 shows a modification.
In this drawing is shown a plate or a frame a with arms I). A stem or pin point on the plate is shown at c and such stem is adapted to engage a detachable head (1. The head can be held by a spring catch (Fig. 3) or by a screw thread (Fig. 5) or other means. The head has a loop or eye e or several of them to engage a collar button. This loop can be of elastic.
The ribbon or fabric f is looped over the plate and arms and tied to the required shape. The point 0 is then pierced through or made to hold the completed bow or tie and the head d is put on. The fabric or tie is now securely held. The loop 6 is then buttoned or fastened to the collar button and the holder and tie are in place. The arms 0) can be slipped between the folds of a turn down collar.

The ends of the arms I) can be pointed to pierce into fabrics or collars for ladies wear and be protected by screw caps t Fig. 7 which if desired can be suitably ornamented.
Hooks is can be applied to the plate a for the holding of'a bow tie.
The device can be made of sheet metal, wire or any suitable material or combination of materials.
What I claim is 1. A device of the class described, comprising a tie receiving plate provided with supporting arms, a tie securing pin adapted to pierce the fabric of the tie to secure the tie on said tie receiving plate, and a detachable head adapted to engage the said pin.
2. A neck tie maker and holder comprising a plate with arms, said plate having a pin to pierce and hold the fabric of the tie and a detachable head for engaging the in, said head having a loop for engaging a coflar button.
3. A neck tie maker and holder comprising a plate with arms, said plate having a pinto pierce and hold the fabric of the tie and a detachable head for engaging the in, said arms having clips for engaging a co lar.
4. A device of the character described, comprising a portion adapted to receive the fabric of the tie, a securing pin adapted-to pierce the fabric and to cooperate with the necktie receiving portion to secure the tie thereon, and a head detachably cooperating with the piercing end of said pin and provided with means adapted to engage a collar button to retain the tie in proper wearing position.
