T o all 'whom it may concern 4 Be it known that I, WILLIAM E. KNODER, a citizen ofthe United States, residing at Ely, in the county of White Pine and State of Nevada, have invented a new and useful Card- Holder, of which the following is a specification.

My present invention. relates to improvements in devices for holding cards, papers, and other matter containing appropriate inscri ptions designating location or other data, and it has for its object to provide a device of this character that is especially adapted to be employed as a receptacle for holding papers that are used on mining properties, and in similar connections, for the purpose of designating the location and other characteristics, the device being so constructed that it thoroughly incloses the apers, thereby protecting them from the in luences of moisture and climatic conditions, and the construction of the device is such that it may be -made cheaply from sheet material.

. To these and other ends, the invention coniprises the various novel features of construction and combination and arrangement oi parts which will be hereinai'ter'in ore fully described and pointed out particularly in the ap ended claims.

The` card or paper holder shown in the present embodiment of my invention comprises a bottom portion that is composed of a single iece of sheet material, metal bein preferab y employed to insure durability anc protection of the papers it contains from the influences of the atmosphere.

invention may be used generally as a recep tacle for cards or labels which are visible from the exterior of the holder, being inyserted' between the folded flaps which constitute retaining iiaiiges and the adjacent surface of the body portion, the retainii'ig` flanges surrounding the holder at the bottoni and vvertical sides and leaving the top open to permitinsertion and removal of the cards and labels. it also provides a closed receptacle or pocket adapted to contain diagrams, plans, and other papers pertaining to the location or other characteristic-s oi mining and other properties, and when so used, a label brieily describing the contents of the inclosedpa ers may be inserted in the iront of .the hoder, and, of course, when desirable, the papers may be removed by bending back the securing aps and unfolding the sections of the holder.

What is claimed is 1. A card or paper holder com rising a body composed of sheet material olded to form a pocket, and means constituting an integral portion of the ier marginally sealing t e pocket on all sides.

sheet material embodying a'pair of sections arranged in folded relation, one of the sec tions having its edges provided with flaps that are folded inwardly thereon; the other section having similar -iaps that are folded inwardly and over the corresponding ed es of the other section to provide a three-si ed marginal seal to retain the sections in coperative relation, the fourth side'of the seal being formed by the fold and means attached to one of the sections for supporting the sections.
