EMILIA GALLOZZI, OF NEW YORK, N Y.
.PRINTING OR STAMPING ATTACHMENT FOR PAPER-HOLDING STANDS.
Application filed July 2, 1906, Serial No. 824,482.
T all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMILIA GALLOZZI, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, New York State, have invented a new and useful Improvement in a Printing or Stamping Attachment for Paper-Holding Stands, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to printing attachment for paper holding stands and more particularly to printing attachments for wrapping paper rolls used in stores; the object being to provide a printing device which can be readily attached to the ordinary paper holding stand so that an advertisement or Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the clamping bracket. Figs. 0 and 4 are perspective views of the supporting arml Figs. 5 and 6 are perspective views of the casing. Fig. 7 is a section through the casing. Fig. 8 is a plan view of the blank from which the bracket is formed. Fig. 9 is a plan view of the blank from which the supporting arm is formed. Fig. 10 is a plan view of the blank from which the casing is formed.
In the drawings A indicates an ordinary paper holding stand, B the roll of paper mounted thereon and 0, the cutter. Arranged on the top of the stand midway between the uprights is a bracket D, provided with spaced ears D, D adapted to fit over the cross bar of the stand. The ear D, is formed with spurs and the ear D is provided with a threaded opening in which is mounted a thumb-screw D adapted to engage the bar and securely lock the bracket thereon. Spaced apertured arms D project downwardly from the brackets D, between which the apertured ears E, of the sides a, of the arm E, are adapted to be pivotally mounted. The arm is split and bent outwardly to form an ear E, which is provided with an apertured lug E, to which one end of the coil-spring E is secured, the other end of which is secured to the bracket D. The arm is provided with a lower angled Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 16, 1908.
Renewed November 7, 1907. Serial No. 401,166.
end E having a threaded opening formed therein, and the ear E is also provided with a threaded opening E, in alinement with the opening in the end A sheet metal casing is formed of a bottom plate F having sides F, provided with inclined slots F and an apertured top F provided with an apertured tongue F which is bent upwardly over and down upon the top to form a brace for the bolt G, which passes through the opening in the top and brace, and is provided with a threaded end which is adapted to work in the threaded openings in the end E and ear E of the arm, so that the casing can be readily adjusted when desired. Openings are formed in the side F, of the casing F, in which is mounted a shaft H, carrying a printing roll 1, adapted to engage the roll of paper. A shaft J, is provided With an inking roll K, mounted in the inclined slots of the sides of the casing adapted to bear against the printing roll.
From the foregoing description it will be readily seen that I have provided a very novel printing attachment for paper stands which is very simple and cheap in construction and one which is very effective in use.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. The combination with a paper stand, of an arm pivotally connected thereto having an angled end, provided with a threaded opening, an ear formed on said arm provided with a threaded opening, a coil-spring connecting said arm with said stand, a bolt working in the openings of the end and ear, a casing carried by said bolt provided with in clined slots in its sides, a printing roll mounted in said casing, and an inking roll mounted in said inclined slot, for the purpose described.
2. The combination with a stand, of an arm pivotally connected thereto, provided with threaded openings, a coil spring connecting said arm to said stand, a bolt working in said threaded openings of the arm, a casing secured to the end of the bolt provided with sides having inclined slots, an inking roll mounted in said slots, and a printing roll mounted in said casing adapted to be engaged by the said inking roll, for the purpose described.
3. The combination with a stand, of a bracket secured thereto, a downwardly projecting arm pivotally connected to said end to said stand, and a casing carried by bracket and having a lower angled end, and a said bolt and provided with a printing and lateral ear intermediate the ends, said lateral inking roll substantially as described.
end and ear being provided with sorevvv EMILIA GALLOZZI. 5 threaded openings, a threaded bolt Working Witnesses:
in said openings, a coiled spring connected at MARIO MoNAoo,
one end to said pivoted arm, and at its other PASQUALINO BOGNETTO.
