Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed August 5, 1907.

Serial No. 387,025.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OTTO Scnnnnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, county of \Vayne, State of Michigan, have invented a certain new and useful Improve ment in Stilts, and declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to stilts for sport or exercise, and has for its object an improved stilt having in combination a standard and a step adjustable vertically thereon and adapted to be held in any one of the positions of vertical adjustment to which it may be placed.
In the drawingsz Figure 1, is a perspective of the assembled parts of the stilt. Fig. 2, is a perspective of the step. Fig. 3, is a cross section of the step.
The staff 1-, is a cylindrical member provided with a number of pin holes 2. Along this stafi is arranged to slide or travel a step 3, preferably made of sheet metal bent to form a tubular loop 4, with flanges forming a rib-like member 9 from one side of which project brace members 5, and a horizontal step member 6 with a step proper formed as flanges 7 upon the step member 6. A hole 2 for a cotter pin 8 extends through the tubular part 4 of the step, preferably from the back to the front with the front opening at each side of or in line with the rib-like memstep member may be locked in position on said staff member, substantially as described.

In combinatimr with a stall member tion of a step member thereon, a step member provided with a tubular part engaging thereabout and with late rally projecting footsupporting and brace portions integral there with, said tubular part being pierced with holes adapted to register with any of the holes in said staff member, and a pin adapted to be inserted therethrough and through said staff member accordingfy, whereby the entire step member may be locked in position therealong, substantially as described.
