TOY.
vices or toys and consists in the novel construction and arrangement of parts as hereinafter shown and described.
The object of the invention is to provide a toy adapted to be placed upon a table or t er firm, level foundation and having attached thereto a ball possessing a certain amount of resiliency so that it will rebound from a solid surface, the said ball having a series of indentations, any of which are ada t-- ed to intersect with the upper ortion'of t e device at such times as the ob ect of the toy is attained.
In the accompanyingdrawings:Figure 1,
- represents a side elevation of the device, partially in section, the ball being shown as resting on the same level. Fig. 2, is a similar si e elevation showing a ball positioned on the apex of the pedestal. I
The toy comprises a semi-spherical shaped base 1, which may be made of any suitable material, either integral or joined in sections as indicated more particularl in Fig. 1.
To the upper part of the ase is attached the concave end of a standard 3, extending upward through the flanged member or guard 2, of approximately the same diameter as that of the base and continuing as at 4, {)erminates in the angular cone shaped mem- Mid-way in the vertical member 3, is a groove 6, to which is secured one end of an elastic cord 7, the other end beingsecurel attached in any referred manner to the ba 1 8, which is provi ed with a plurality of indentations 9, corresponding in shape to the angular, coned top 5, of the toy.
. 1 In operation the ball is thrown in the air to Specification oil Letters Patent.

the limit of the elastic cord by which, and the effect of gravit it is returned with considerable force to t e level surface on which the toy is positioned and rebounding from the saidlevel surface, may be caught on the apex 5, the same entering any of the numerous indentations with which the ball is rovided .which constitutes the manner in which the toy is used.
The urpose of the guard 2, is to compel the ba to pass at a considerable angle in order to gain its position.
In use the standard may either remain stationary or it may be grasped by the hand of.
the player in an effort to impa the ball on its point.
Modification as to the relative proportion of parts, lengths of cord and the 11 e may be made without departing from the invention, which having been thus described, I
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
As a new article of manufacture, a toy comprising a hollow semi-spherical shape' centrally apertured base, a pedestal having a concave lower end secured on the convex surface of said base over said aperture by a screw passing through said aperture from the inside into said pe estal, the upper end of said pedestal being ointed, a circular guard arranged on said pe estal adjacent its upper end, having a flat u per surface, said pedestal being provided Wit an annular groove between the base and guard, an elastic cord secured in said groove, and a ball carried by the free end of said cord and providedwitha I plurality of indentations correslpondlng in shape to. the point of said edesta In testimony whereof have signed. my name to this-specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
